Movie review: Bodyguards & Assassins

Bodyguards & Assassins
Duration: about 140 minutes.

Synopsis: It concerns efforts by a group of martial artists to protect Dr. Sun Yat-sen who is popularly referred as the Father of Modern China, from an assassination attempt while visiting Hong Kong to raise funds at the beginning of the 20th century.

I have no idea who Dr. Sun Yat-sen is, and gave up after reading a paragraph about him, apparently he is someone prominent in the history of modern China, i think so? anyway, here's the wiki link to read about him: Sun Yat-sen

My views: when i saw the movie poster in jb few weeks ago, i was already super excited about this show, because it has all the famous actors & im pretty hyped up to see what kind of show it is. Donnie Yen (your ip man main actor), Leon Lai, Leung Ka Fai, Nicholas Tse, Tsang Chi Wai, Simon Yam (one of my favorite actors), and later on i found out that this Cung Le guy is some world class fighter, and Mengke Bateer is some former NBA player. how cool is that? this movie has to be the blockbuster of the year! overall the fighting scenes were quite cool, storyline was so-so as i am not a fan of chinese history. there were a number of really awesome moves during the action part. okay on a side note, i've been calling this movie Body & Ass in short. hahaha!

Ratings: 4 out of 5! go get your tickets now!

hmm.. i have a totally opposite view..
Dr. Sun in short is the one who bring changes from the Kings system to the democratic country.
That movie is a bit boring for me, not unexpected due to history story.
They do put funny element into the movie and tats the time the famous actors kicked in for a while..
Not sure if it is due to hungryness and sitting at the second row, i feel like vomitting for the first time ever in cinema..
hmm bad experience..

to Yummylicious: heh hope that helps! :P

to Kwong fei: hmm afterall it's a movie ma. if it's super factual then it would have been a documentary/book right! that's my opinion luh, if it's super factual, without all the funny elements, nobody would wanna watch it i think. (at least i wouldnt watch it) heh, omg that show is so long and you sit in the second row?!

to Kelvin: hah this makes sense! yeah i really dont know who he is. but you know during the movie, i found a better way to solve it lor, he can just use messenger pigeons or telegraphic transfer (which they did use during the show), so there shouldnt have been any assassination in the first place! hoho, i am a genius! =P
