This is my last blog post

went for the interview in school yesterday morning, i totally nailed it luh! the teacher said she like my style, woohoo! but i should smile more. c'mon for my whole life, everybody's telling me to smile more. it's just so unlike me to be smiling, and smiling too much causes wrinkles. i like pretending to be cool and unaffected. whatever.

after that, i bought lunch from school to R's office. lester said im so nice to do that, hahaha!
i always think i am the best buddy of the year, and for every year lah. thank you :D

i made a huge mistake yesterday, by deciding to go shopping alone.
from cityhall to haji lane to plaza sing, i spent more than half a thousand on things i dont need. everything i bought yesterday were classified as "things i dont need", really. who needs a Chalone lingerie? who needs soooo many pieces of lingerie and sleepwear when you already have enough supply even if you dont wash them for 3 months? who needs another tonne of facial products when your shelf no longer have space for more?

after the disaster, i texted R that i am really sorry about it, and all the crap. i'll never shop alone again, i cant think straight when i am alone. i mean it.

alright, it's the last day of 2009 and i just missed the postman despite the fact that i am at home, because my house's so pathetic that there's no doorbell. next year has to be a better year, because i am graduating! usually i set new-year-resolutions but c'mon, they never worked. exactly one year ago, we were painting R's house and we bought our maltese puppy!

i believe 2010 will be a much better year, and i really really hope so!
& i am not going for any parties or countdowns, i am such a homey girl! last time, i would probably kill to go beach parties and countdowns, but now, i just like being around quietness.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

oh & continuing from the title, ... OF YEAR 2009!
will blog soon, which is next year! hahaha!

one last joke before i ciao:
(this is one of the the sickest joke i ever heard, it's damn evil and whatever.)

Q: Where's the best place for pimples to grow?

i'll post the answer next year (okay wtf is wrong with me, i know it's not funny but i keep trying to emphasize this unfunny "joke"). do drop a comment if you think you know! :D

Awesomest ice cream ever!

i havent been updating for so long that i really cant recall anything.
a lot has been on my mind lately, even though it's the vacations and as much as i would love to relax and enjoy it, i've been put to so much stress and bothers about school work.

let's see, when school reopen, right on the first day, there's a quiz which contributes to ten or twenty percent of the whole module, and also a presentation. ugh, both on the first day of school reopen.

suppose to have 3 bcomm interviews, but i shifted one to the holidays, which is tomorrow, so that i have lesser things to stress on when school reopen.

3 projects would be due soon, but have started on none of them.

from school reopen till finals, there's only 6 weeks, and i have so much to catch up, because our study break and finals starts on 15th Feb, which is like the 2nd day of CNY, and i dont want to miss out the fun! Major stress and upsetting because of all these crap. even when i am sleeping, my phone has to be bombarded with calls and smses to do this and that. c'mon give me a break lah, it's holiday ffs!

alright, shall post photos for now!

at Stonegrill some time ago, ...

R's beef, chicken and mutton, cooking on the piece of hot stone!
i super regretted not ordering this, the beef is mad awesome!

see! their service is really good too, they offered to help us cut the meat
cos we were staring at it, wondering what to do =.=''

my tomyum seafood ramen boiling on the hot stone too!
i know it's not visible, but there are lots of chunks of fish in the soup, along with sotong and prawn!

steamboat at bugis last week, ...

the steamboat wasnt that awesome though. personally i only liked the drinks, which is Mango Smoothie!
i was really starving, on the verge of fainting already, so we anyhow settled for one and start chomping down the food.

awesome DIY ice cream, ...
vanilla with lots of caramel syrup!
(づ^ o ^)づ  caramel is love! ♡♥♡♥♡

well this is the actual one, with oreo, chocolate chips, mint chocolate, and lots of caramel syrup!
despite how ugly it looks, it has to be the awesomest ice cream for people with sweet tooth like me :D
it's like all my favorite snacks dumped on the ice cream, mad loves! ♡♥♡♥♡

my nails for the week!

and my new hair color. i wanted it platinum blonde, but it turned out like this.
and to make it worst, super unevenly dyed. i totally look like a cougar now luh!
i really miss my black hair, if only the black dye lasts, ...

alright for now, gotta prepare for tomorrow's bcomm interview, iron clothes and etc. wish me luck!
ciaos!

Movie review: Old Dogs

Old Dogs
Duration: about 90 minutes.

Synopsis: Two best friends - one unlucky-in-love divorcee and the other, a fun-loving bachelor, have their lives turned upside down when they are unexpectedly charged with the care of 7 year old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives. The not-so-kid-savvy bachelors stumbled in their efforts to take care of the twins, leading to one debacle after another, and perhaps to new-found understanding of what's really important in life.

My views: pretty hilarious (oh well, there was a part that i laughed really hard and loud), and towards the back, was quite touching, but predictable luh! a really light-hearted movie, silly in some parts but i am sure it doesnt make you sound stupid for liking the silly-parts. pretty sure they cut out some parts too, like the "i love you" from my previous post, i dont think i saw that part in the movie :(

Ratings: 3 out of 5! a pretty good comedy but it was really that predictable!

My unhappy encounter at the Polyclinic

i went to the Woodlands Polyclinic as early as 8am today, and i am not the least satisfied. i went there not because i am unwell, just that i wanted the Norethisterone pills, which i regretted going to the polyclinic for it.

Unhappy #1: although i went at 8am, the whole process, queuing and consulting took me 3 goddamn hours (exclusive of transportation, which is another 1 hour)

Unhappy #2: the doctor which attended to me was so cocky & arrogant. i hate his attitude. and it was as if he wanted to chase me out, i sat down for not even 30 seconds and he said "you can go down to the pharmacy..." when i interrupted that i had something else to consult.

Unhappy #3: i wanted to write a complaint letter, was thinking of what to write on my way home, when it occurred to me that i was so angry that i didnt take note of the doctor's name =.=''

Unhappy #4: initially, i had 4 health related questions for the doctor, in the end i only asked two because the only thing he knows how to reply is "it is normal". if it is normal, why do i even ask? at some point of the conversation, he seems to be insulting my intelligence. you may argue that is it my biased judgement, but i know it wasnt.

Unhappy #5: i am not doubting the professionalism, but i just think that the answer he gave me was logically impossible. or rather, what happened to me was logically impossible. i have been 35kg for quite some time, and recently i grew lots of fats & bulges, especially on my tummy, thigh, and now arms. it is super visible, i am not being paranoid over it, because, let me reiterate again, IT IS SUPER VISIBLE. the thing here is, i do not gain weight at all! not at all, not at all, NOT AT ALL! even if it is not flesh, but air under the skin, i should still be heavier, not forgetting my hair is longer (heavier), i didnt lose weight anywhere. i always think i have bone-thinning or whatsoever, but then he says that it is normal. if it is normal, why are people trying so hard to lose weight? and tell me what is normal, when you gain fats, you have to gain weight, that IS normal. then the next question i asked, he too replied "it is normal", i gave up, i dont even want to ask the other two questions.

Unhappy #6: he didnt want to give me more supplies of the pills. i know it is harmful, but then again, crudely put, it's not like i am chomping on the pills to kill myself lah! so i asked him, then next month or whenever i need it again, i have to come and queue again for 3 hours and pay the same amount?

Unhappy #7: okay lah, i am just unhappy about the whole process. i totally regretted going to the polyclinic, not that it is even somewhere near my house, but because i am quite free, and of course it is cheaper. and supposedly i thought polyclinics are supposed to be more lenient, apparently not. the answers that the doctor gave wasnt even supported with explanation. IF EVERYTHING IS NORMAL, WOULD I EVEN BE THERE? =.=''

Unhappy #8: it is not the first time something like that had happened. there was once they made me go through a few tests, scare me by saying "suspected to be abnormal bleeding", in the end they say it is nothing ("it is normal" again). and i had to pay for the tests and "consultation". like what the fuck.

overall, i would not go to the polyclinic again. 3 hours of waiting but unsatisfactory service and such, versus around 1 hour of waiting (maximum) but having to pay more than double, but at least you get quality service and explanations (i find that family doctors are more kiasu and professional, they would at least explain). really, polyclinics always give you the answer as though to patronise you, happened more than once already, true story.

okay, gotta go! will update again later or tomorrow!
(yet to transfer the pictures from my camera and i am too lazy to fetch my card reader now.)
it's my birthday in 11 hours' time! i can still remember vividly my birthday last year, omg time passed by too quickly! will be one year older soon, and another, and another! i'll be 150 years old too soon man!

alright, ciaos!

Movie review: Avatar

Avatar
Duration: about 160 mins.

Synopsis: Entering the alien world through the eyes of Jake Sully, a former marine confined to a wheelchair. Despite his body, he is still a warrior at heart. He is recruited to travel light years to the human outpost on the Pandora, where corporations are mining a rare mineral that is key to solving Earth's energy crisis. Because the atmosphere of Pandora is toxic, they have created the Avatar program, which human "drivers" have their consciousness linked to an avatar, a remotely controlled biological body that can survive in the lethal air. These avatars are genetically engineered hybrids of human DNA mixed with the DNA of the Na'vi (natives of Pandora).

Reborn in his avatar form, Jake can walk again. He was given a mission to inflitrate the Na'vi, who have become a major obstacle to mining the precious ore. But a beautiful Na'vi female, Neytiri, saves Jake's life, and this changes everything. Jake is taken in by her clan, and learns to become one of them, involving many tests and adventures. As Jake's relationship with his reluctant teacher, Neytiri deepens, he learns to respect the Na'vi way and finally takes his place among them. Soon he will face the ultimate test as he leads them in an epic battle that will decide nothing less than the fate of the world.

My views: pretty awesome movie, it was a bit too draggy for me, but interesting storyline. fyi, this is one of the genre which i would never watch, but watched because of the ravings from everyone. regretted not watching it in 3D, it would have been much more beautiful i bet! somehow, i feel like it is a message from the environmental agencies. hahaha! what i liked most about this movie is the night time of Pandora, when the trees glow and all, simply breathtaking! but why are aliens, or related always blue/grey/green? i think they would look good in pink actually!

Ratings: 4 out of 5! watch to believe!

Mervyn's 21st

im back to blog! done with commontest and i think i did really badly, ugh!

again, random updates based on my tweets!

1. last saturday after the paper, i went all the way to millenia tower to get my spare keys from R because i locked my room door with my keys inside when i was on the way out. how clumsy!

2. also last saturday, went to mervyn's 21st birthday party at R's place. overall was quite fun because of two small kids, really adorable! hope mervyn likes his birthday present! (i bet he does) photos at the end of the post!

3. after the party was a mass clean-up, until 2am. hence i overslept and didnt make it to my cousin's party the next afternoon. happy birthday cindy! (or is it cyndi?) =.=''

4. R tried to play on my guilt, & apparently i am someone with almost have no guilt, so you failed boy!

5. i spent the whole of last sunday playing dota, it has totally taken over me, once again, like reliving secondary school days.

6. my mom hired some cleaner to clean up the house and i think it's freaking expensive. mom, if you see this, it's cheaper to get a maid in my opinion. at least the house will be clean everyday! (& i wont have to starve again, even if she cant cook, she can tapau for me!)

7. another embarrassing moment: i went into macdonald's alone, ordered and was about to pay, then i realised i didnt have cash! thank goodness the bank is just some 20 steps away so i told the cashier "ehh i forgot to withdraw money, be right back!" rofllollmao!

8. okay basically nothing much has happened because i was soooo stressed & occupied with commontest. & now it's pathetic, short two weeks of projects-filled vacations for me! to be high or sigh, you tell me.

9. Yvonne wants to go KL to celebrate my birthday and Christmas like two years ago! (minus the part i was hospitalized on christmas eve night), Nick you can actually stop reminding me about it, i can still remember it vividly. =.=''

Pictures from mervyn's birthday celebration at home!

what's with that face?
(okay lah i was testing my camera & the flash, sorry lah!)

see, take 5 times still same expression, it's your birthday dude! i also never owe you money!

baby Joanne! (and her mom in the background)
she's super cute right! i've got two pecks on my cheek from her (she dont just kiss anybody one okay, well she did reject kissing other girls)

why wasnt i in any of the photos you ask, i was the photographer of the day, also super insufficient sleep due to exams that morning, looking super cui!

by yours truly

Movie review: Bodyguards & Assassins

Bodyguards & Assassins
Duration: about 140 minutes.

Synopsis: It concerns efforts by a group of martial artists to protect Dr. Sun Yat-sen who is popularly referred as the Father of Modern China, from an assassination attempt while visiting Hong Kong to raise funds at the beginning of the 20th century.

I have no idea who Dr. Sun Yat-sen is, and gave up after reading a paragraph about him, apparently he is someone prominent in the history of modern China, i think so? anyway, here's the wiki link to read about him: Sun Yat-sen

My views: when i saw the movie poster in jb few weeks ago, i was already super excited about this show, because it has all the famous actors & im pretty hyped up to see what kind of show it is. Donnie Yen (your ip man main actor), Leon Lai, Leung Ka Fai, Nicholas Tse, Tsang Chi Wai, Simon Yam (one of my favorite actors), and later on i found out that this Cung Le guy is some world class fighter, and Mengke Bateer is some former NBA player. how cool is that? this movie has to be the blockbuster of the year! overall the fighting scenes were quite cool, storyline was so-so as i am not a fan of chinese history. there were a number of really awesome moves during the action part. okay on a side note, i've been calling this movie Body & Ass in short. hahaha!

Ratings: 4 out of 5! go get your tickets now!

Movie review: The Storm Warriors

The Storm Warriors
Duration: about 110 minutes.

Synopsis: The sequel to the 1998 movie, The Storm Riders, based on the famous comic, Fung Wan, or you call it 风云. Ekin Cheng and Aaron Kwok, who reprise their roles as Wind and Cloud respectively, find themselves against Lord Godless, a ruthless Japanese warlord bent on invading China.

My views: i specially watched The Storm Riders about two or three weeks ago to prepare myself for the sequel. overall, good sound and visual effects, but i find the movie too draggy! i think ekin's evil-look is cool, pretty good job done there. and more actors that i can recognise, other than ekin and aaron, there's nicholas tse, charlene choi, simon yam etc etc. needless to say, it's much better than the 1998's, but one thing i find rather disturbing, it's the two girls! they are like, ... so extra =.='' & it would have been better if it was in cantonese, i may not look like it, but i speak really fluent cantonese since i was 3 or 4!

Ratings: 2.5 out of 5! watch it only if you have time to spare, wasnt really that awesome!

Movie review: Zombieland

Zombieland
Duration: about 80 minutes.

Synopsis: A cowardly shut-in named Columbus is forced to join up with a seasoned zombie slayer named Tallahassee in order to survive the zombie apocalypse. As Tallahassee sets out on a mission to find the last Twinkie on Earth, the duo meets up with Wichita and Little Rock , two young girls who have resorted to some rather unorthodox methods to survive amidst the chaos. Reluctant partners in the battle against the undead, all four soon begin to wonder if it might be better to simply take their chances alone.

My views: i actually watched this movie more than two months ago, and as far as i can recall, this is surely not your usual living-dead movie. pretty awesome piece of work, i love this piece of movie because it's infused with so much humor and a fair share of gore & it's own theories/rules to survive. cant remember much but i've been recommending friends to watch it because it's pretty good, and you should too!

Ratings: 3.5 out of 5! worth watching, a good mixture of gore, humor & guns!

A peek into my room!

apologies for the lack of updates!
i've been wanting to blog more regularly but im not sure what was obstructing me, i seem to be pretty free but when i think again, not!

cant remember what i've been doing lately, have been spending lots of time with boyf, and i think a pretty fair amount of time with classmates.

anyway, ...
MY ROOM IS EFFING NEAT NOW!

the before-pictures, and what-was-wrong...

and after hours of sweat & hardwork & dust-inhalation, my room transformed from the what-looked-like-aftermath-of-a-disaster into, ...

err well, i actually gave up packing halfway, so i stash everything into the red box
(underneath is another green box for stashing) "as long as it looks neat", im still unchanged! LAZY ASS!

used to dump all the products in a box, because i was too lazy to put them back after use.
now all neatly placed on shelf. xD
threw/gave away half of my nailpolish collection because they are either dried up,
or colors that i dont like anymore.

well generally, everything looks cleaner & neater now, except my wardrobe. ...
(but it's hidden! so it's okay! ROFL) - same concept as stuffing everything into a box.

anyway, i still have assignments to do, & yet to have my breakfast! (it's 2.40pm now)
i love my new blog template! took me a few days to alter it, so please tell me if it's nice!
so that shall be all for the time being, till the next time i blog! (tonight or tomorrow hopefully!)
