Nailed it, French Manicure!

my love for pretty nails started with french manicure. i loved it because it looked really elegant, neat & clean. hence, here's a tutorial on basic french manicure, also my first online tutorial, spread the love!

step 1: after preparing your nails, (trimming and filing and such), apply the base coat.

step 2: after the base coat, apply a thin layer of color coat.

step 3: after the first layer of color coat is dry, apply a second layer of color coat.

step 4: wait for it to be completely dry, before using the striping tape. more commonly used is the french manicure guides, which i find them quite expensive, hence i am using striping tape, (much much cheaper!), of course, if you have steady hands, skip this step.

step 5: paint the white tips!

step 6: wait for the white tips to be completely dry before peeling off the striping tape/guide. be patient!

step 7: seal and protect your pretty nails with top coat!

for me, when i do it freehand, i would usually use glitter to conceal the ultra-duper-crooked line.

tip!
the secret to keeping the designs and preventing chip-offs is to reapply the top coat every 2 to 3 days.
which is also the reason why i cant afford to use expensive top coats, i use an average of 1 bottle of top coat every 6 to 8 weeks.

anyway, here's my nail for the past week.
the rhinestones stuck so well that it lasted me for more than 10 days, (eventually i faced difficulties removing them =.='')

stay tuned for more nail tutorials!
