Movie review: Alice in Wonderland (3D)

Alice in Wonderland (3D)
Duration: about 110 minutes.

Synopsis: 17-years-old Alice attends a party in the Victorian estate only to find she is about to be proposed to in front of hundreds of snooty society types. She runs off, following the White Rabbit into a hole and ends up in the Wonderland, a place she visited in a similar manner 10 years before, yet doesn't remember. Wonderland was a peaceful kingdom until the Red Queen overthrew her sister, the White Queen. The creatures of Wonderland, such as the Cheshire Cat, Tweedledee and Tweedledum and the March Hare ready to revolt, wait for Alice to help them. With the help of the White Queen, Mad Hatter and the Caterpillar, Alice starts seeing the flashbacks of her original visit, back when she was seven.

My views: was expecting more from the visual effects as it is 3D, and for that, i found it to be quite disappointing. but other than that, i find it a jovial piece from Tim Burton, entertaining and vivacious. the animations, characters and costumes and such are pretty impressive. as for the plot, (i have never read the book before, so i will only be commenting on the movie itself), it was pretty good, a really lighthearted piece. so maybe you can forget about catching it in 3D, i feel that it was maybe just a little bit prettier, but having to pay almost double for it, nahhh...

Ratings: 3.5 out of 5! definitely worth your time!

@kenwooi: why not? i am always tempted to watch movies in 3D, but all the time, i walked out disappointed. but still, good experience nonetheless ;) maybe for this, it's okay to not catch it in 3D, just my humble opinions.

@jfook: whoaaaa! got so nice until you wanna watch it twice? heh

@Himmat Singh: you should totally go check it out!

@Samuel: hmm yeah, just my humble opinions about it. as it was 3D, i expected more, but if i watched the non-3D one, maybe i would rate it higher... felt quite cheated =.='' hahaha! how about letting me know your views after you've watched it! would be glad to hear from you ;)
