My favorite character in Alice in Wonderland is the Mad Hatter! I think he looks really awesome with all the styling, costumes & make-up and plus, in the movie Alice in Wonderland, it was played by Johnny Depp! That gives me another 200 reasons to like this character and look forward to the movie! I do not know much about the character though, as i've never read the book, but from Nuffnang's exclusive sneak peak about the movie, Mad Hatter is portrayed as someone who is fearless and went to great lengths to protect Alice. Really anticipating this movie as it it directed by Tim Burton, totally cool!

I hope this would spice up your day! because it did make me smile
,
as i tweeted, this morning was really bad. woke up & found myself really sick, without knowing what caused it. & my first thought is how am i gonna survive the rest of the week, with 4 papers to go within five days. then, when i was rushing out, i couldnt find my thumbdrive & keys, which are usually in and beside my wallet respectively. then, i bruised my shin, well quite near the ankle there. then, i did very badly for my papers. though i thought i was pretty well prepared.
well really dont feel like cutting them away, now i kinda love the pointy nails!
anyway, it's my mom's birthday today. my sister bought her a cake and guess what she said?
she doesnt want it. sigh, stupid family problems.
dont even feel like wishing her happy birthday. gahh!
away with the woes, lemme share a text that po sent me today!

Nailed it, For Chinese New Year 2010!
,
alright, my nails for CNY are totally, ... not related to CNY. just did whatever i felt like doing. similar design to previous one. the bow was done by myself! using ribbons, i know it's way too big but anything smaller than that is too hard for my clumsy hands to sew, then i added a nail dangle & i think they are a perfect match for each other.

love the bow & dangle although they look really sore and out of place.

for my toes:

Movie review: The Wolfman
,
The WolfmanDuration: about 120 minutes.
Synopsis: Lawrence Talbot is a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estrange father, Talbot sets out to find his brother, and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. His childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleep Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. His brother's fiancee, Gwen Conliffe, tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline has come to investigate.
As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself, ... one he never imagined exists.
My views: this movie is not for weak hearts, from beginning to end, they will try to scare you by the sound effects for at least 10 times. but every part was kind of expected, except one, which made me jump. storyline is not bad, but still way below Underworld. when they are transforming into the werewolves, it's pretty cool. lots of blood and semi-gory scenes.
Ratings: 3 out of 5! watch it only if you have too much time to spare!
Gong Hei Fatt Choi! & happy Valentine's too! hope everyone's having a good time!

For CNY, i cut my waist long hair to a short bob!
,
finally got some new clothings for cny! or maybe i was over productive in shopping, other than dresses, a skirt & tops, (i resisted buying shoes because i still have heels that are worn only once or never =.=''), err everything i bought were dark colored, other than my new satin sleepwear in red! & new bedsheets in pink/beige. next to get is lingerie! i totally overspent despite saying i will not be buying any clothes (which is logically impossible)
just had the last presentation of my education life today, well i screwed up the entire presentation because of a technical error, was given a chance to redo it but i told the teacher it's okay, i'll just make do with it. it's just an A grade gone but at least i will not fail that module. well to me, gpa is not important luh, no plans to continue studying, hence ...
& so instead of mugging, i just borrowed Photoshop CS for Dummies from the school library & i am gonna finish reading it as soon as i can! i really have lots of things to do, havent get my hair & nails ready for cny. ahh speaking of nails, R suggested something which i think is totally cool but very not my style. still thinking if i would do it or not, but if i didnt, i will do it some time this year so that you guys can use it for next year okay!
you know, ever since i stopped reading, i thought i lost the passion in that, but when i just borrowed this book, i realise that the only thing i cannot, err not willing to read is school-related stuff. you know, i used to really love reading, i finish danbrowns in less than 4 days (per book), it took me less than a day to finish the biography of cleopatra, always reading architectural & design books, 2 days to finish a mitchalbom, a day to finish literature texts, etc etc. i can even get hooked on reading newspaper =.='' just one article after another, blah blah but i just cannot read my notes. i am super confirmed now it's because of interest. if you ask me to choose again, i will not choose banking & finance to study.
okay so, for cny, i cut my waist-long hair to a short bob.
well truth is i didnt cut my hair. out of boredom i did that. bleah!
right now i really have lots of things to do but i just dont know where to start. ugh!
i really wanna catch some movie but i really dont think i have the time.
top 4 movie i wanna catch:
1. Monga (okay i dont think it's available in singapore)
2. Little Big Soldier
3. The Wolfman
4. Armoured
hopefully i have time for them!
alright, off to read my book-for-dummies-like-me.

Nailed it, Adding Rhinestones & Pearls!
,
i've received a couple of emails requesting me to show how i stick on the rhinestones which i said, lasted me for at least 10 days & eventually i had difficulties taking them off.
so here's a video of how i did it.
my first time doing a video so, ... i would say there are lots of spaces for improvements. but anyway, hope that helped!
also, i would like to clarify that the method i used may not be the correct way, but surely, this is what i find works best for me (even better than nail glue), & also, it should be the cheapest way.
i have actually done a set of nails for valentine's and cny, but the photos really ... sucked. the flash was way too strong and it just doesnt do justice to the nails itself. hence, i will not be posting it :(
so that's all for now!
stay tuned!

Movie review: The Tournament
,
The TournamentDuration: about 100 minutes.
Synopsis: Every seven years in an unsuspecting town, ‘the Tournament' takes place- a secret hitman competition between 30 of the world's deadliest assassins; with the last man standing receiving a $10m cash prize. The Tournament is set up by a syndicate of high stake billionaire gamblers, watching the mayhem unfold via CCTV cameras, betting on its outcome.
The killers are implanted with tracking devices and are given palm pilot monitors so that they can locate their opponents. But one killer has cut the tracker out and local drunken priest Macavoy has inadvertently swallowed it. Beautiful hitwoman Lailai is still haunted by her last hit- an innocent pregnant woman. She seeks redemption by trying to protect the priest until the bug works it way through his system. They manage to kill or evade most of the assassins, but reigning champion Joshua tracks them down. The innocent woman was his wife Mary, and he demands to know why she was killed instead of him. Joshua learns from Lailai that Mary was always the target, ordered by syndicate organiser Powers to ensure he took part in the tournament. Joshua goes to wreak bloody revenge on the ringmaster!
My views: i've watched this movie in october last year (read here). & the next day, i was telling my friends to watch it, it's freaking awesome. the show is like ... battle royale, killing each other to ensure your own survival. the gore & brutality is (hope i dont sound sick by saying this) AWESOME! a lot of action & blooooood. i cannot exactly remember the details but i remembered it as a very awesome movie, and i wouldnt mind catching it the second time (in fact i am planning to do so) because, the suspense is so thrilling! (why do i feel like my english has become so crappy =.='') if you are a sucker for over-the-top action-filled & full-of-gory-scenes movies like i am, you'd love this movie as much as i do.
Ratings: 4.5 out of 5! enjoy the bloodbath!

Movie review: 14 Blades
,
14 BladesDuration: about 120 minutes.
Synopsis: Trained in clandestine combat from childhood, the Jinyiwei were masters of the 14 Blades. Above the law and with a license to kill, they devoted their lives and lethal prowess to the service of the Emperor alone. When the Imperial Court is taken over by evil eunuch Jia, the best of the Jinyiwei, Qinglong is assigned to steal a list identifying those still loyal to the Emperor. Unbeknownst to Qinglong, the Jinyiwei have fallen under the control of Jia, and during the mission he’s betrayed and barely escapes with his life. Now as the most wanted man in the land Qinglong must seek out and rally the loyalists to rise against Jia and restore the Emperor to power. In his way are the deadliest assassins in the land, his former brethren, the Jinyiwei.
My views: typical storyline but quite a masterpiece nonetheless. donnie yen's body is really ... hot! you also get to see former ms hongkong doing a "striptease", okay her name is the movie is Tuotuo (strip strip literally). & for once, i find wuchun really good looking, i dont really like his usual looks, fair looking pretty boy. but in this movie, where his fashion sense bears a 90% resemblance to captain jack sparrow, i find him too hot to resist! really really drop dead handsome when he's tanned! the fighting scenes are really awesome too!
Ratings: 4 out of 5! watch to believe, go get your tickets now!

Free flow of xiao long baos! & my debut bimbo blog post
,
i have done two tutorials for my nails, but havent got time to edit it. thinking of posting only one of it because the other one is very badly done =.='' shall see if editing's able to salvage it.
anyway, i know i dont often post photos of myself here in my blog (truth is i hate taking photos) but here's my debut bimbo blog post.

two days ago, R went for his medical checkup and then we went tiong bahru plaza to kill some time. there's this cool shop at the basement that sells a lot of junk food imported from ... japan? dont think so lah, japanese brand but most probably imported from china. HAHAHA. anyway, i found my favorite & it's 2 bucks only! & it's cheaper than other places i assume? (but more expensive than what i paid for in shanghai lahhh)
then, we went holland village to binge!
steamboat buffet plus free flow of xiao long bao (小笼包), how awesome is that?

so that's all for today, will most probably post the nail tutorial tonight or tomorrow!
p/s: i am like a burglar in my own house, sneakily nomming the CNY foodies. cannot resist lah!

i totally regretted ordering other food, and should have just drown myself in the 小笼包s.
it's like a little bun, full of awesomeness.
how awesome you ask, very very very awesome!
before going out.
public toilet =.=''
while eating.
this picture is mad hilarious.
i did not stuff two 小笼包s into my mouth, i didnt, i didnt, I DIDNT! *roll eyes*
okay i did =.=''
another picture of the eye & fingers!
okay lah, please dont let that image of me stuffing food into my mouth stay in your mind,
i still prefer people to think of me as cool & (whatever).

another great product from pokka! personally, i prefer it when it's at room temperature.
when it's chilled, it kind of taste bland =.=''
